Guru Teg Bahadur decided to go on a second tour of the Malwa region. He had already toured this area. So from Chak Nanaki (Now Anandpur Sahib), he started the tour. He came to Saifabad (now Bahadurgarh), especially to meet his long devotee Nawab Saif Khan, the chief of Saifabad. Saif khan had known Guru Teg Bahadur and he was Guru‘s sincere devotee. Guru ji was also impressed by his love and devotion. So he stayed with his family and followers for about four months.
This has been beautifully depicted in this painting. The artist has shown Guru Teg Bahadur sitting cross legged on a mat. There is spiritual glow on his face. Saif khan with some other persons has come to meet and pay respects to the Guru. He has brought gifts for the Guru. In the background the fort of Bahadurgarh is visible. The scene is quite picturesque. Some other devotees are also coming to see the Guru.

Nawab Saif khan
Nawab Saif khan was the son of Nawab Tabriyat Khan and brother of Fidai Khan, who was a foster brother of Aurangzeb. He was appointed the Subedar of Agra and later Subedar of Kashmir till 1671. But he soon turned hermit and was removed from the job. He was a great admirer of Guru Teg Bahadur. The successor of Saif Khan was Iftekhar Khan, known to vigorously pursue Aurangzeb's policy of converting India into an Islamic country and forced conversion of Hindus.
